There is a procedure that you need to follow in order to become a LIC agent.
- Go for a meeting with the LIC development officer of your nearest LIC branch.
- You will go through an interview with the manager and on the basis of the interview, the manager will approve to fill up the application form for the training.
- In 100 hours of training, you will be given the required knowledge about loans, insurance, regulations and applications.
- After successful completion of the training, you need to appear for an examination conducted by the Indian Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority.
- You will be designated as a LIC agent after passing the IRDA examination.
One must clear the IRDA examination to work as a LIC agent and in order to appear on the examination, there are certain criteria that the candidates need to fulfil. The candidates must get 50 hours of training. Passing 10+2 or Higher Secondary Examination from a recognised board is the basic requirement for attending the IRDA examination. In terms of age criteria, the candidates must be a minimum of 18 years old or more than that. There will be a pre-recruitment test that they need to clear.
IRDA Exam Pattern
Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority examination is short question-based examination. The exam pattern consists of fill in the blanks, true-false statement, right-wrong statement, yes or no statements, column matching and MCQ or multiple-choice questions.
IRDA Examination Syllabus
The syllabus of the IRDA examination is fully job oriented. There will be questions about loans, insurance, regulations and basic applications of those. There also will be some numerical type questions from the chapters of interests, discounts, percentage, loan circulation etc. You will be taught all these things in the training of 50 hours.
